I want to display a table of numbers (24 columns, 16 rows, values 1 to 255) as a photoshop image of 24 x 16 squares, where the gray value depends on the value of the number (1=white, 255=black).

I have an Excel spreadsheet with the numbers. How to go to an Photoshop image from there?

Any comments are appreciated, thanks a lot

No, these numbers are not connected or related to their coordinates.

I haven’t tried it but, I would think you can paste the information. You may have to save your Excel spreadsheet as a Tab Delimitted file then open it in wordpad or something, then copy/paste into photoshop. You will, of course, lose any formatting.

The other way would be if you have Acrobat (not the reader, the full program). You could print to distiller then open the PDF in Photoshop. Then your formatting would be preserved.

Lutz, just a reminder:

Tonal values convention begins with the value of zero and goes to 255. A total of 256 values.
