I have now color calibrated my scanner using an IT8.7/2 target, and the free iPhoto tool from coloraid.de.
I have ordered a Spyder 2 for monitor calibration.
Are there any free tools (or cheap tools) that will allow me to calibrate my printer ? What I am thinking about is something with a test image (IT8.7 ?) that I print, scan, apply scanner profile, and then generates a printer ICC profile from that ?
Or can I do that with my existing tool ? What I worry a
bit is, that the scanner profile was an input profile. The printer is an output profile. So the analysis done by the program might go the wrong direction – and give me an ICC profiles that doubles any problems.
