curved text

Is there a program that will automatically space and arch text to allow it the text to then be transferred onto a surface that is a circle?

Let me clarify - I want to print then transfer the text to be below and around the the outside rim of a bowl.

The text does not have to compensate for the curve of the bowl, but it does have to compensate for the circular surface.

Does something like this exist?

Adobe Illustrator and Macromedia Freehand come to mind. You can attach the text to the circle and have it be on the outside or the inside.

Ahaa! This sounds like one for the amzing, the brilliant, the amazing and brilliant R-uussseell Brown

I watched one of his tutorials about text around the outline of a dancer

If that doesn't do the trick nothing will

It uses a combination of PSCS and Illie CS

do a google on Russell Brown - it may be www.russellbrown.com but I ain't 100% sure at the mo'

Coreldraw! is eaiser and more intuitive to use. You can shape the text to fit the curve ove of the bowl any way you like :)

You can do this in Photoshop CS too....the're a "fit text to path" feature built in now...

Paint shop pro 9 does this easily.

Just draw a path, select the type tool and place the cursor on the path. Start typing.

as fara as I am aware, there is no such feature... Of course he meant type on path?... but then there are always fascetious people on newsgroups who like to state the bloody obvious..

So now we have established that the way to 'fit text on a path' is to type it again. A big difference, and certainly worth insulting people.
