Can someone tell me how I edit recorded actions?
I want to change the colour of one the effects I applied and can’t figure out how.

And can someone tell me how I can add to actions?

There are a couple of ways. Sometimes, depending on how the action is set up just double-click on the step in the Actions palette with an open document will bring up the appropriate dialog and you can change it there. If that won’t work you can record the step alone and drag it into your action and trash the older step.
