It can be done in more than one way. Information freely available on Adobe's website (unless you really are talking about Abode Photo Album, in which case I dunno) or you could always RTFM.

BTW, Photo Album is no longer standalone but part of Elements 3.

Did the Adobe website go down? :)

I have the first revision of this product and found it wonderful for small collections. However, it is probably not a good choice for several thousand images as it is a resource pig.

Besides, keywords and multiple file selections are a bit of a doddle in PSCS

Peter,
It's better to use a IPTC program for that.
If you add your keyword and othe info to
the picture you don't need to build a
database for pictures on your hard drive
and then.... loose it!
Try Exifer, it's free...almost. It will cost you
a postcard and a stamp.

Might want to look at this program, works great for me.

ThumbsPlus is a highly customizable image database / thumbnails / graphics editor application that makes it easy to catalog, locate, maintain and modify all your graphics and multimedia files.

Thank you all for the replies.
Currently I use MS 'Digital Image Suite 9' with WindowsXP Pro which works well except for the annoying property of not being designed for easy keywording when a full-screen view of a picture is on the screen. Though this keywording can be done, it involves several steps which is tedious after the first hundred photos, and I must use the full screen for many photos because they contail fine detail.
Another problem has presented itself with this MS product is the volatility of the keywords when the photos ar reimported into the suite; that is if I use the existing keywording to group a set of photos (to send to friends) in some remote directory (for storing and printing), subsequent reimporting of these into the Suite will result in about half losing their keywords! I mention here that I store all my photos in the 'Tiff' format which I was advised to do. The 'properties' in WindowsXP Pro has a keyword facility, but this is not available for 'tiff' files! Curious.
I am loath to continue with this Suite because, although I have about 4000 photos in it already, I maight one day find all the keywords evaporated because of some possible ith MS/tiff files.
Has anyone had similar problems?

If you have thousands of photographs and want a solid image database with flexible keywording there is only one answer - buy ThumbsPlus (www.cerious.com).
