This is maddening – every once in a while ImageReady gives that error when trying to open or save a file. You are hosed cvompletely. I used to reinstall ImageReady. But I have foud that it is due to one value in the registry preferences that gets corrupted:
Delete the following value:
1) close ImageReady and open Regedit
2) goto the folder (the "key"):
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\ImageReady 7.0\Preferences –
3) delete the value:
ApplicationPropertyVersionNumber
4) restart ImageReady
Then export the value in regedit and name it something like "fix-imageready.reg" for suture use. Next time it gives that blasted error just close ImageReadym run the reg file. and restart.
If still no worky – repeat except delete the entire "Preferences" key
