Has anyone struck this?

In all modes and file types, "Save" and "Save As" works fine.

BUT, if a BMP is opened (or other file converted to BMP), I can’t SAVE AS.

Work area locks up and Save As box does not pop up. All tool boxes seem to be accessible (i.e., you can click on them without hearing error noise), but the work space and all file bar functions produce error noise.

I’ve had to open (drag or double click) an RGB file, and when the Colour Missing Profile box appears (I have Scanner and Photoshop now set as ColourMatch RGB) so older files cause this (if set this way). The thing is, this action unlocks the workspace and makes all files open accessible again. I still can’t however, do a SAVE AS for the BMP file, only SAVE.

It’s as if something is locked. I have removed and reinstalled Photoshop
7.0 and the problem still exists.

This feels like a dialog that is offscreen. Try the three fingered salute (ctrl-alt-shift) when you start Photoshop, and say yes when it asks whether you want to clear your prefs.
