Hebrew with photo-shop 7.0

Hello,
I have photo-shop 7.0.

I want to use the horizontal type tool (to write texts), but I want to write Hebrew.
For some reason Hebrew characters not seen in photoshop 7.0 (I see blank character instead).
How can I see anyway Hebrew characters ?

One answer we've seen posted here before is to get the ME (Middle Eastern) version. I too am searching for a better answer. I'm not fluent in Hebrew, but I have occasion to use it.

I have had limited success with an American English version of PSCS and a font called BST Hebrew. Two MAJOR problems: text entry is still Left to Right, so you need to type sdrawkcab txet werbeH, and the text mapping is non-standard. It's not to bad for short phrases, but a real pain for longer work.

I have also used Dagesh Pro for the Hebrew text entry, printed the text to a PDF and placed the Hebrew text in a new layer. This method is very inflexible and is a last resort for longer passages. I also don't like that Dagesh does not use the same fonts as my Windows operating system, so I'm limited to three typefaces.

StarOffice Text Document editor
allows left-to-right OR right-to-left text input
allows save as Word document

FAIK it may allow text input direct to Illustrator retaining reght-to-left text option.

I have not tried this but maybe it will help avoiding siht ekil txet gnittupni

It may be worth it purely for right-to-left text entry

I don't know how much money you might be willing to spend, but as one who works in muliple languages (Polish, Chinese), I have found Corel Draw v12 and English Windows 2000 to be an unbeatable combination. By simply installing an IME - Input Method Editor, Win 2k gives you access to dozens of languages Hebrew included.

Once you've created what you want in Corel, you can export it as an AI file that imports beautifully into Photoshop.

Please explain a little more about IME. Is this something native to Windows, a plug in for your graphics program or a separate application? I could use this!
