No way I know of 'cepting to not flatten the sheet and physically move them around after creation.
Same in 7.
Dunno if CS has any more versatility or not.

Maybe I can find a way to incorporate the web format as a jpeg and insert that into my html template...I am a horse show photographer
and just converted from film medium format to digital. Its a new world for me. I appreciate your input.

In PSCS you have a choice: you can deselect Auto Spacing and set your own for Horizontal and Vertical.
I 6 you could write an action to resize the pictures and place them one by one with your spacing. The next time it does it automatically.
