Hi,
Why do adjustment layers have masks on them? Is it just to save having to push the add mask button or is there more to it than that? Thanks,

It allows to restrict the adjustment to only part of the image.

For one thing it is a great convenience. If you have a selection active and you then create a new adjustment layer everything that you have not selected is automatically is masked out. No extra steps involved. Chuck
