F7 to show layers stopped working

A little while ago, I discovered that F7 would show or hide the layers palette. A week or so ago it just stopped working. I have upgraded from 3.0 to 5.0 to 7.0 (7.01) and if I open 5.0 it still works. I have uninstalled and then re-installed 7.0 without resolution. I’m OK without the F7 feature, but I’d really like it back.
Any ideas where it might have gone?

Shift-Tab will do it for you… or Tab to hide tools and options too…

Thanks so much!!

That works just about as easily as F7 did by itself.
I’ll use it until the F7 hide/show function decides to come back from where ever it went.

Has something else taken over the F7 function key? This happened to me when I loaded an new action set that I had downloaded from the internet. One of the actions was using the F7, therefore PS F7 didn’t work any more. Also, if you have assigned F7 to your own action, then F7 for layers will no longer work as it normally did. Just a thought.

That works just about as easily as F7 did by itself.
I’ll use it until the F7 hide/show function decides to come back from where ever it went.

Thanks, but I don’t think this is the problem. I have assigned an action to a function key (F8), but nothing to F7. F7 for layers does work in the 5.0 version of PhotoShop that I upgraded to 7.0 from; and it still works for spell check in MS Word.
