This is an age-old debate, but it has not been fully discussed (according to archives) since the latest releases of both sets of software. I use FW but recently came across some shortcomings, specifically no Overlay Blend (so useful), so I’m looking at PS.
Macromedia put out a table denigrating PS a few years ago: http://www.macromedia.com/software/fireworks/productinfo/mat rix/
Does this all still apply? What are the key differences, if any, between these two apps?
Does PS, as people who use FW say, not do vector graphics well? Does it require another program (Illustrator?) to make vector graphics that are then imported into PS, often with a loss of data manipulability? (Just rumors I have heard, don’t shoot me).
And btw, is there any way to "mass convert" FW PNG files to PSD files?
