Hi artists,
I know for sure there is (are) plug-in filters for photoshop, able to convert a photograph into a Van Gogh-painting (or Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, if you'd prefer :)).
Now, what's the name(s)?
TIA

I don't know of a plugin that will do it, but you can do it in Painter
I have a plug-in called Virtual Painter which is great for that. Youcan do
Collage, Color Pencil, Drawing, Gouache, Impasto, Oil Painting,Pastel,
Pointillism, Rectangles, Silk Screen, Triangles, Watercolor. You cantweak
them endlessly. Great plug-in.
Hi artists,Corel Painter leads the field in this proceedure.

Yes, and it can do so automatically with the Auto_Clone feature,
with all of the brushes, though the older ver 5 will work with aboutall of
the brushes for that version. BTW, PS has many "painterly" effects inits
Filters area. CS will even show you the effect for many of them, before you
choose which one you think you might want to use. Some, however, willconvert
the image to greyscale, so you will want to work on a Duplicate Layer, and
then place the color image Layer above it, and play with the Opacityof that
Layer.

I do have Corel Photo (11) but that doesn't give the required result. From PhotoShop Artistic Palette works about as I would, but it's too symmetrical.
The pictures are Grey.
By the way, Corel's filters work nicely within PhotoShop also, vice versa
Still looking for the right name of this PhotoShop filter, as I think I have it, among the many.

The Plugin Site has a plugin to create a Van Gogh or Monet effect. Iguess
if you don't like the works of those artists, you may be out of luck, unless
you want to buy Painter.

This could be what I could use, but not what I was looking for. Tried it, but a message came up, something like "You'll can see this only in preview mode, because it's a demo"
In preview mode, it's worthless.
Thanks Ken

All that means is that if you want a plugin that will do the job you require, you are going to have to pay for it. The Plugin Site has some things for free, but others cost money.

Oh, I know and they are right, only they should be able to give me a demonstration, that makes me hungry to their product. From what I saw, I don't need this plug in from them.
Forgive me, but PS Elements has a number of such filters, doesn't CS,or
is it that you want more control?

Hi Mike,
You know, I'm quite sure I do have such a filter on my pc. If it came from (old) Elements, or from Corel's Paint or what ever, I don't know. But I found over 1000 filters and than it's impossible to search and try. So I hoped that somebody just told me 'that should be ...so and so filter'
The result should look as if some person would have painted the picture, in Van Gogh's style is prefered.
Still haven'd found it. Pallette looks good, but way to stiff
Regards
Frans
