psd image previews in Windows XP

An appeal to the great, experienced or learned

When I used PSCS on 30 day trial my .psd files would show as images in windows but now on the full product they appear as ps cs psd icons

is there a way to show preview thumnails in windows? (it worked before...)

changing the window view to 'thumbnails' works for me!

Yeh - I have tried that several times along with a refresh

I seem to recall the same thing happened at the start of my 30 day PSCS trial

maybe i will remove and re-install picasa

something happened that made psd's appear as thumbnails and it seems that something has happened now to prevent the images from appearing. In thumbnails view all i get is a larger version of the psd icon :-( : : : :

Well, stranger and stranger....

I am sure that PSD images showed as (erm ...) thumbnail images in View -> Thumbnails

But I have just read on another website that they don't = one perplexed Arty (apparently a particular dll and so forth)
Which leads to: Steve can you really, really view thumbnails from Windows windows?

View as thumbnail = no image, just the icon. :-(
