Count pixels? Help needed!

If I create a black silhouette on a white background in PS 5, is there a way to find out how many pixels are black vs. white? Maybe some way that PS will report this value while doing an operation?

(Background: I'm comparing riding positions on my bicycle to maximize streamlining. The fewer black pixels in the image, the smaller I'm making my body on the bicycle and the faster I'll go. )

John: This may help: Make a selection of the black portion of the illustration using any appropriate selection tool (such as the Magic Wand, with the Contguous option unchecked). Then go to Image > Histogram and the Pixel count of the black will be shown in the lower left of the Histogram display. The white pixel count might be done in a similar fashion.

I'm not sure about PS 5, but the Histogram tells you how many pixels if you move the cursor over it.
