How to get easy 6x4" crops?

1772 views11 repliesLast post: 5/17/2006
Our digital camera doesn't have a 3:2 mode, and we're trying to minimize the hassle of cropping each image to print on 4" x 6" stock. What we're looking for is a PS plugin or action that will give us an exact 4x6" frame for cropping, the size of which is dynamic (based on selected print resolution). We usually print using anywhere from 300 to 480 dpi).

Any leads or info appreciated.

Select the crop tool and then create a new crop tool preset by entering the measurements and dpi in the boxes provided and then saving it as a new crop tool!

So you (allegedly) spent a fortune on the best image processing program on earth, and you haven't studied it? Shame, shame.

It's there.

Yeah, he told me. He's a bit miffed with you, however.

Nah, I got the answer I was looking for, from a kind and generous soul.

I suspect yours has a much different fate from his.

I use CS2 as well. However, when doing a batch of crops I use a freeware tool named "JPEGCrops." It quickly does lossless cropping for 4x6 and many other standard sizes, including metric. Very easy tool for selecting crop area and location on an image.

Create an Action. Have all the cropped images saved in a new directory. --
