Photoshop CS is set (default) to truncate file names to 31 characters to accommodate McIntosh users. However, a little pop up box says that that CS can be configured to handle 60+ characters. Unfortunately, I’m unable to figure out how to do it. Any suggestions on how to fix this on a PC.

For me this did the trick:

* File > Save for the web
* Save for web dialog: Click Save
* Save Optimized As dialog – Type long file name
– Settings menu: Choose "Other"
– Click Save

* Settings dialog: – Click OFF Mac and Unix
– OK (takes you back to Save Optimized As)
* Save Optimized As: Click Save

Long filenames are yours.
