problem with adobe gamma on startup

Hi,
I wonder if someone could assist with this problem;
I had to re-load PS6.0 (font problem on startup) and upon restarting my computer the screen colors were in black & white. I took Adobe Gamma loader out of startup/ restarted computer/ colors were ok.
Obviously a conflict somewhere...any ideas?
Thanks much.

rerun adobe gamma from the control panel.

Put Adobe Gamma Loader back in startup -- it's needed to load your monitor calibration.

Then re-run the Adobe Gamma control panel, and this time pick a different starting profile.

If that doesn't fix it, then check for updated video card drivers.

You got gray because either the profile was bad, or the video card drivers were buggy.

Thanks for the info; upon trying to run AGL, the colors go to B&W.....Have to restart computer (without AGL in Startup) to get full colors back. Color is on until AGL loads in startup sequence.

I have an older Dell pii that does not have updated driver for the win2000 os I am now running. I am left with Mmaybe trying to get a new video card?

Try running the Adobe Gamma Control Panel (not AGL), and starting with a different profile.

Keith - that doesn't make much sense. You shouldn't be choosing Adobe RGB as a monitor profile. You should make you OWN profile for your display and save it under a new name.

Thanks for the clarification. It appears to be a 'rtfm' error on my part....I'd always assumed the starting point was a named colorspace like adobergb1998...
I'll review the info on Tony's links.
Thanks
