Sorry if this is out of topic question.
Why I can not save a .ico file with a transparent background? I'm using IrfanView
Thanks

No, it's just that this isn't a Irfanview newsgroup.
I have no problems saving icons with trans bg's in Irfanview.

You can easily do this directly from Photoshop with my .ico file

The README has more details. ICO files have a 1-bit transparency
and may also have an 8-bit alpha channel (32-bit "XP-style" icons).
The plugin derives the 1-bit transparency mask in 3 possible ways: - from layer transparency when creating an RGB+alpha (32-bit) icon - from transparent palette index when creating an Indexed mode icon - from an alpha channel (black=opaque, white=transparent)
Also try opening someone else's favicon.ico with transparency and you'll see the alpha channel representing the mask.
