hi,

i have photoshop 5.5 and windows98se

i recently installed irfanview 3.8
and since i did that, something strange
has happened:

normally i see not a default windows
icon for my .psd files, but a nice
tiny thumbnail of the original
photoshop file

right-clicking on it showed up the
default properties AND some extra
features [preview, keywords,
author, copyright, etc.]

but after i installed irfanview the
thumbnail-icon is replaced by a
default icon [of the photoshop
program] and i don’t have access
to the extra photoshop-properties
when i right-click on a .psd file

i did NOT associate irfanview with
..psd files during installation

what can i do to restore the thumbnails
and extra photoshop information when i
right-click on a .psd file?

i did uninstall irfanview, and photoshop
i did delete the .psd file type settings
i did delete [manually] all the
register-settings to photoshop, etc. etc.
but nothing helped… i just can’t restore
the settings!

the .psd files do open in photoshop, but
i just want to see my thumnails and
extra information again!

regards, jasper

Open up Irfan view, Go to Options, then Set File Associations. There yoy can set Irfanview to open whatever you want.

thanx for helping, but that’s not the problem:

i don’t want irfanview to open the .psd files
they are opened by photoshop already, i just
want to see the photoshop thumnail icons in
my windows explorer and the extra properties
of the .psd files when right-clicking on it…

these option disapeared and i can’t get
them back any how, any way…
