Pentium 4, 2.53 Ghz, 1 Gig RAM, Windows XP Pro, Photoshop CS. While using the Magnetic Lasso Tool, I sometimes get a blank Image Window and all pallettes go blank when I left click to set a point. Any ideas? Thanks very much.

How long do you hold it without moving the mouse/stylus?

I have the same problem with the rectangular marquee if I drag a selection and don’t let it go right away. I had reported it as a bug during the beta testing and it’s still there in the full release.

Not long at all. I was working a lesson in the Photoshop Classroom in a Book and selecting the padlock image in Lesson 4. As I get 1/3 to 2/3 of the way around the selection, the left-click of death occurs at a seemingly random point (I have been left-clicking and setting points normally up to that point). I can complete the selection in the now blank image window, press enter, and the image comes back – unselected. It does behave like a software bug. Any chance of help/attention from Adobe?
Thanks.

Stan,

As a test, go to control panel and run the System applet. Find Video Hardware Acceleration and set it to NONE. Then try it. If the problem goes away, it’s a vid driver issue. You’ll need to update your drivers, or roll them back one version.

Peace,
Tony
