Image Size dialog disappeared!

I've been using Photoshop 7.0.1 since it came out. I use it nearly every day. Just yesterday I went to resize an image using Image Size. The dialog is invisible - it doesn't show up ANYWHERE on the screen! But I can't select anything in Photoshop (images, tools, etc.) as if the Image Size dialog box is actually up. The only way I can re-gain control of PS is by hitting my ESC key. I can minimize PS, but the dialog box isn't behind it. I've tried completely uninstalling it and rebooting, then reinstalling it, but it's still doing the same thing! I use that dialog nearly every time I use PS, so I'm a bit distressed about this.

Has anyone heard of this, or have a fix for it??? I've asked the other designers here and no one's encountered this before...

ANY help is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks - e

Have you tried trashing your preferences?

No, but I'd be happy to try that. What's the best way of doing that?

Thanks!

There's an FAQ which explains it clearly.

Have you been messing with screen size/resolutions lately?

I don't think so, but I did have a skin application running that applied a skin to my OS. I've recently uninstalled it...

see this faq first:

Mathias Vejerslev "Dialog box is missing??" 10/29/02 1:06pm </cgi-bin/webx?50>

if that doesn't work, reset the prefrences per this faq:

Mathias Vejerslev "How to delete/reset Photoshop preferences" 2/11/03 12:04pm </cgi-bin/webx?50>

The first faq didn't work, but blowing out the prefs did it.

Thanks!!
