Which versions of Photoshop on both? If you save in CS it might not open in 7 for instance. Do eps files created on his machine open okay?
If so you could send him a tiff and have him resave as eps.
By the way, it's Mac not MAC.
Both machines are running Photoshop 7. We can't use tiff. The files have clipping paths in them and at the other end the only format they can use is EPS. What actually happens is that photos are taken and sent to us. We then clear cut the image (on the PC) and do any touch up. The files will then be sent back and used in Quark on a Mac.
Actually tiff supports Clipping Paths. But you don't need it. Just save as Tiff with the Path in it and then at the other end make the path a Clipping Path and Save as eps.
There may be a corrupted Parser Module on the Mac. I think you can pull it off the installation disk. Maybe try trashing preferences first and if that doesn't work reinstall. But my workaround should work.
Didn't know tiffs supported clipping paths. Handy to know, thank you. I dare say your workaround would solve the issue. The only problem with it is that the other end MUST receive a usable EPS. No editing under any circumstances at the other end. No option with that. :( At the other end, they'll be taking it straight into an image database system and then into Quark rather than Photoshop.
At the other end they've tried opening the sample file on two different Macs, and both exhibit the same behaviour.
I've also just been told that the other end are running Photoshop CS, whilst we are running V7; although I'd be suprised if that's an issue.
