Opening Images

I recently scanned approx. 300 photos to cd and to my HHD.When I go to view them with win xp viewer or infranview some will not open.Infranview says it does not recognize the file format.Win xp viewer says no view available. The scanner [Epson 2450] formated them as TIFs.When I try to open them in PS7.0,I get the new file dialog box.I hope there is help,or I will have to print contact sheets and go thru the original photos to find out which are not showing up as they are in numbered sequence,so I have no way of knowing what they are,and rescan them.

Don,

A thought. If you scanned them as TIFs, you might want to try pulling the file up and typing TIFF at the end of the name. Maybe that might allow it to open.

Thank you Gordon for your reply.I tried what you sugested, but it did not work.I tried renaming also to PSD,JPG with no luck.I guess all those files are corrupt.Any other sugestions?
Thanks again.

How big are the files?
Can you post one somewhere so that one of us could look at it?

Do you have Corel Photopaint? For some reason, it can sometimes open files that are truncated that Photoshop cannot.
