How can I make a puzzle out of a photo?

I have a photo, and wuld like to make a puzzle out of it. I was wondering if Illustrator or Photoshop is capable of doing this? Or possably some sort of a plug in that has this ability...

There are also some places online that, upon free (I think) registration, will allow you to upload your own images, which are then turned into jigsaw puzzles that you can play with as a Java applet. The site I saw also will make your images into custom real jigsaw puzzles.

In which case you really don't need to do anything to your image, except crop it to the proper aspect ratio (+ bleed) to fit a die.

It's a diecutting job right? You're certainly not going to have a new die made are you? Rather pricey, eh what? No, you're going to use a standing die somewhere.

I think what we're really talking about here is a puzzle effect.

There is a style that shipped with photoshop that creates the puzzle effect. Go to the styles palette, click on the menu triangle, and choose Image Effects. One of those is named Puzzle. It may be what you're after.
