Stroke path problems

I am having problems doing a simple stroke path in 6.0 - this is what's happening:

Using the pen tool, I draw the path. Then I select the paint brush and choose a brush style. With the path selected in the paths pallette, I choose stroke path. This strokes only the first control point - not the whole path. I've tried changing the brush spacing, to no avail.

I'm sure this must be simple, but I can't find an answer anywhere. Anyone know what's wrong?

A couple ideas:

Make sure that the spacing box is checked in your "Brush Tip Shape" options.

Also look to see that none of the brush options (scattering, texture, etc...) are set to "Fade."

You need to select the entire path, Cathy. When you have your Path Selection Tool active, ALT + Click on the path. That will select the entire path and all anchor points. Just be careful that you don't drag the path after you've selected it or you'll create a duplicate.

You'll know the whole path is selected when all of the anchor points are a solid filled little box.

I remeber this came up about a year or so ago. My Pshop box is down for upgrading, so I can't be sure, but I think Blue is right about the 'Spacing' box needing to be checked.

Boy, this is a tough one. The "Spacing" box is checked and set to "10", the "Fade" is off, and the path is selected. Still, the only place where the path will stroke is on the first anchor point.
Any other ideas?

Well, never mind. I reset all tools, and that seems to have solved the problem. Not sure why though....
