Photoshop 7 freezes / crashes when i save an image as jpeg

Photoshop 7 freezes / crashes when I save an image as jpeg running on Win 98se - i have tried the moving prefs folder solution however i am not sure i'm doing the right thing and concerned that deleting may affect the programs stability further.

thanks alot!! deleting the photoshop 6 pfref worked perfectly and everything is working fine now :)
