Thanks ..but…

From my first posting I quote
"If I set it up to have an active primary partition and try to load an OS…"
And my second posting
"I’ve previously tried in various configurations to get it to take an OS, as a single primary partition and as two or three partitions with the primary active…"

This drive refuses to take an OS. Other drives I have do behave themselves when using exactly the same fdisking, formatting, OS loading routine.

shrug….It’s a "data disk" pure and simple.
