Thanks ..but...

From my first posting I quote

And my second posting
"I've previously tried in various configurations to get it to take an OS, as a single primary partition and as two or three partitions with the primary active..."

This drive refuses to take an OS. Other drives I have do behave themselves when using exactly the same fdisking, formatting, OS loading routine.

shrug....It's a "data disk" pure and simple.
