Resizing and composing multiple images on one page

Hi,

I hope there is a simple answer to what seems like a simple thing to do.

I'm trying to arrange multiple images on a single page. I managed to insert them into a new work session (page) by dragging them in one at a time. I can't figure out how to change the size of each image independently (each image is on it's own layer) without changing the size of the whole &^%$#@! canvas or the other (layered) images.

Thanks in advance

1. Select Layer in Layers Palette.
2. Choose Move Tool.
3. Check Show Bounding Box
4. Hold down the Shift Key and drag one of the corners smaller.

Shift Key prevents the aspect ratio of the image from changing and distorting the image, but if
this is not an issue you can just resize by dragging any of the side.

"Smaller" because depending on your situation "enlarging" could cause for degradation of image quality.

Shecky,

Excellent! Thanks a million!

Also, a few fine points on that trick:

1. How do you lock the aspect ratio so that you can't distort the picture while I'm resizing?

2. Is there a way to "snap" the images to a guideline (so that edges exactly line up)?

Thanks again,

That's why step four says hold down Shift Key. Doing that locks aspect ratio.

2. Is there a way to "snap" the images to a guideline (so that edges exactly line up)?

1. Select a layer. Check the "lock box" of the layer you want to align to.
2. Select Move Tool.
3. Click an appropriate align option in the Tool Bar.
