Can find nothing in help menus on this. Sometimes would like to clone areas with a tool shape that is rectangular. Is a circle the only choice?

The Clone Tool uses whatever Brush you have active.
In PS CS you can select any brush type, including the preset ones or one that you design.

Display the Brush Palette (Windows>Brushes) and click on the little right arrow under the x in the upper right of the palette.
You'll see a myriad of different types of brushes.

The big boys sometimes recommend Brush 100 for a more subtle cloning operation.

Good luck! . . . . patrick

And, don't forget, you can tailor your own brushes, so if you want to clone an irregularly shaped object, select the object carefully, convert the selection to a custom tip and use it with the clone stamp. You have to deselect "aligned" first in the clone stamp settings.
