i have just come across what seems to be a very good book, read 1/2 way so far.

How to cheat in PhotoShop , The art of creating photorealistic montages by Steve Caplin

however there is no companino CD in the back, would anyone have a copy of the files or know where i can download while i get the publishers to send me another.

The book goes through the various stages in creating the images in the real world for projects undertaken by the author. A colourful, well laid out, plain english and easy to follow and swallow ! book.
I have read a number of heavy, heavy weight books but to be fair this one expects you to be familiar with photoshop.

Shame about the CD though, the website for the book is

It’s an excellent book and the CD is very good. How come your copy didn’t have the CD? I’d take it back to the shop if I were you.

I downloaded a bootleg book from the internet too, its one downfall o those darn PDF files…. you dont get the CD! I’ve been reading th "free" version of Sybex Photoshop Savvy, also a very nice read and yo can’t beat the price. But alas, I cannot "exactly" follow the hands on

Just do a print screen of whatever part you are on and paste it int PS, granted it doesnt work well wen they are providing an actua layered PSD for you, but it works in a pinch.

Stop the piracy
