I have recently downloaded PS 7.0 but I am unable to open it because of an icc profiles error, I have attempted to reset the gamma without any results. I have 6.0 but am getting the same error from it now that I added 7.0.
I will be greatful for your help.

Chances are there is bad monitor profile in the (assuming win2k/xp) WINNT\System32\spool\drivers\color folder.

Move all the .icc and .icm files to a new folder below the color folder. Now move back just the following:

EuroscaleCoated.icc
EuroscaleUncoated.icc
JapanColor2001Coated.icc
JapanColor2001Uncoated.icc
JapanStandard.icc
JapanWebCoated.icc
pcd4050e.icm
pcd4050k.icm
pcdcnycc.icm
pcdekycc.icm
pcdkoycc.icm
Photoshop4DefaultCMYK.icc
Photoshop5DefaultCMYK.icc
ProPhoto.icm
radd5018.icm
SMPTE-C.icc
sRGB Color Space Profile.icm
stdpyccl.icm
USSheetfedCoated.icc
USSheetfedUncoated.icc
USWebCoatedSWOP.icc
USWebUncoated.icc
WideGamutRGB.icc

Run Adobe Gamma and select sRGB as your starting point and create a new monitor profile. Don’t forget to change the text in the description box and make sure you save to a NEW filename!
