If I am using an Iiyama Vision Master Pro 454 CRT monitor in its sRGB mode, which monitor profile do I set? Is it the IIyama HM903DT profile, or a generic sRGB profile? The intent is to match to my printer.
I don't know about you, but when my 454 was delivered it had a big sticker on the top which said: HM903DT. SO guess which I'd use if I wasn't using proper colour management.

What do you mean by "proper colour management"? External calibration equipment? If so, were the results noticibly different from setting the 454 to sRGB mode?
Thanks,
Yes. The profile, like most manufacturers profiles, is generic i.e. it covers all the 454s manufactured by Iiyama. However, each monitor will be different. A generic profile is only average as far as colour management is concerned. And the sRGB mode is not particularly brilliant. It's too restrictive in terms of control. Furthermore, as I use AdobeRGB as my profile for everything anyway (sRGB is a narrower colour space), it was pretty useless anyway.
