Elements vs Photoshop 5.0 LE

In 2000 when I purchased my Nikon 950 it came bundled with Photoshop 5.0 LE. I am in the process of downloading the trial version of Elements.

Are these substantially the same program? What differences should I notice over the intervening 4 years?

Thanks in advance.

Elements has multiple undos and actions with better text support and effects?

Dr. J:

Thanks for that. I will have to check the menu choices and run a bit of a test to see what the differences might be.

Elements is roughly 80% of Photoshop for about 10% of the price. LE is possibly 30% of Elements. Hope that helps.

So then LE is 24% of Photoshop?

It seems my trial of Elements 2.0 has timed out before I got around to running my comparison. I will just have to learn some more of LE then review Adobe's website on what Elements provides.

<g> Just about. LE is *very* cut down. :)

Let's see if I got this right, you originally posted on the 10th that you were in the process of downloading the trial and on the 13th it's expired?

Yes. I had downloaded the trial earlier. Then I cleaned up my hard drive and removed Elements. So I downloaded again. Unfortunately it remembers your original download date. By that time my 30 days were up.

Oh well.
