Pixel to Pixel Free Transform

Hello Experts,
I have PS6 on Win98SE.

When a layer is resized with "free transform", its pixels are adjusted by PS for new size. Some times I want the adjustment disabled and the layer resized just like "Nearest Neighbor" resize of image. How is it possible?

Thank you,

The type of resampling can be chosen in the prefereces in PS-7. I assume it'll be something similar in PS-6.

Not PS if I was asked.

Rob, unless I'm missing something, you can only choose if resampling the entire image, not if transforming a layer (or part of a layer), which is what OP is asking. There is no "general" preference for this either.

Mmm, You may be right. I am at work now without PS, so I posted what I remember. I remember a setting for the resample method (bicubic, slow but better vs. Nearest Neighbour, faster but not-so-good). Isn't that in the general prefs? and if so, wouldn't it affect partial/layered resampling.
If not I stand corrected... By midnight (2300utc) my work is done and when at home I'll fire up PS so I'll be sure what I'm talking about.

until then.

By Jove, it is!
I missed it. Good for you for sticking to your memories, Rob.

OP, yes, this setting should apply for any resampling done within the program until changed, either on the fly in Image Size or back in the Prefs/General.

Apologies for my first post of disinformation.

Mac,

No need to apologise. However, it feels good to be right at last. I checked it and indeed, it looks like this pref is global. (well at least within PS).
