Hi
A friend of mine had some pictures transferred from his Nikon digital camera to CD whilst overseas.

We can’t seem to open them. When we access the CD, it locks the computer up.

I did manage to get photoshop to access one of the pics though. However, it was not able to load it and returned the message

"Could not open because a jpeg marker segment is too short (the file may be truncated or incomplete)."

Question is, could anyone advise me if there is any way we can recover these files. Undortunately they are the only record of his recent trip.

The application is called digital image recovery
Don’t worry about the language, when you install and run it it asks which language.
If this program can’t do it, nothing can.
