Halftone Problem

Trying to get a halftone pattern for output on Canon S900 on transparency film.
Photoshop 7 on a PC.
This is for a photo positive for silk screen priniting.
In the Print With Preview/Screen section, I've selected different frequencies from 10 lines/inch to 100 lines/inch and printed with no discernable halftoning happening.
Tried it on all colours CMYK within the Screen section.
Have tried with initial file as an RGB and CMYK. It is only a black and white image, so no colour seperation needed.
Any help much appreciated.

Inkjets use FM stochastic dots for their process, not AM halftones. You'll need a Postscript capable printer which recognizes LPI adjustments.
