recent files don't open

when i (double)click FILE/RECENT FILES/file X, the file doesn't open anymore, whereas i used to open files this way all the time. Can anyone help me out with this problem?

You don't say what OS or version but I had same problem with Mac OSX and PS CS. I had to copy the /System/Library/Scripting Additions folder from a backup archive.
