Missing driver error in PS7 w/WIN XP

Ever since loading WIN XP in my computer, Photoshop has had a problem loading. When I boot PS7 I get two windows thatn pop up while booting. The first one says "tvichw32 Driver Open error". I click OK, and immediately a second window pops up saying, "cannot load ASPI Layer Driver", and OK is the choice. I click that, and PS7 opens as usual and seemingly, runs OK.
All the functions work, except, I can't get my scanner (Pacific Prinefill 1800u) to work, and my Photoloader (software for Casio camera) won't work. When I re-installed the Casio software, it gave me an error "Files failed to self-register: C:Program files\CasioPhotoLoader\imgkit5.ocx" When I looked for this file in the register, it was there, but, apparantly, not self-registered, whatever that means. I also re-installed the Pacific Primefill 1800u software, but PS7 gives me the same driver error messages as when it boots. So, no joy w/scanner, which is critical.
I can seem to get my Nikon software to work, and also, my Canon software, but not the Casio Photoloader, which until recently, worked w/any digital camera I've had.
I would re-install PS7 except, I've got a lot of plug-ins working. Is there a way to fix this w/o re-installing PS7? A million thanks in advance, Cliff Moore

Does that mean you did an operating system upgrade?

Indeed it does, and thanks for asking. I upgraded to WIN XP, and after paying Adfobe for info (don't ask) I discovered that I needed to upgrade the drivers for the Pacific PrimeFilm 1800u scanner I have, and which I hadn't used since upgrading to WIN XP. All fixed, but what a pain. Cliff Moore

The reason I asked is because you should NEVER upgrade an operating system. XP needs a clean install in order to work properly.
