Can I create new keyboard shortcuts in PS6 - particularly for the adjust brightness/contrast option?
Thanks,

In PS 7 I created an action by clicking on new action, naming it, selecting a function key ie F2, click record, drop down the little triangle menu on the action pallet and click on insert menu item. A box comes up that says no menu item selected, leave this dialog open, go to image adjustments brightness/contrast, after the box opens it will disappear and in the dialog box that is still open it will say brightness/contrast, click ok and stop your action from recording. Press the hot key ie f2 or whatever you assigned to it and the brightness/contrast dialog will open.

A most clever work-around!

Clever, yes, but what does it achieve over assigning a key board command to, say opening a new Curves adjustment layer?

Equivalence, perhaps?

Ah, all righty, then. Thought I could learn something that I had overlooked. The only two commands I have self-created (horrible grammar) are ones to make both a Curves and Levels adj. layers.

Maybe I misunderstood your question. Are you asking why one wouldn't use Curves instead of Brightness/Contrast?
question was if he could create Keyboard Shortcuts using Photoshop 6, which doesn't offer this feature as CS does. Donster supplied a unique work-around which may also work for other commands that lack shortcuts. Actually, re-reading your earlier question makes me think that an adjustment layer would probably be better in that it would retain the original image. However, I'm betting Donster's shortcut would work on an adjustment layer too.I must have overlooked the PS 6 part. And I tend to use Adj. layers for anything other than a jpeg I am about to send out for printing.
