resizing rectangular selection

Hmmm ....

In many graphics apps, after creating a rectangular
selection, you can float the mouse over an edge
of the selection and move that edge in or out to
resize the selection.

Is that possible in Photoshop ?

I think what you are looking for is Transform Selection in the Select menu. Also can be accessed by right-clicking inside the selection area in Windows and on Mac by right-clicking or Control-clicking.

It's easier for me to just make a new selection, if all you're talking about is indeed a rectangular selection.
