....length is too short (the file may be truncated or incomplete." This is an error message I get when trying to open a .jpg. I'm assuming something has damaged/corrupted the file, but does anyone know a way to fix? any help is appreciated. thanks, and merry christmas!

PS won't open it. Some other programs might open the undamaged part, and give you that much.

There may be some apps that can open the uncorrupted part. I use picaview which will give a preview of the image, and from there you can do a screen capture. Of course, this is a low rez capture.
AFAIK, there is nothing out there that will "fix" the corrupted file. To prevent it from happening in the future, ZIP or SIT the files before emailing or FTPing.
