Hot Key for Brightness/Contrast

PS7 - I want to press a hot key combination to open the Brightness/Contrast window instead of having to go through three menus to get there.

I searched for a previous post for this but found nothing specific but I found an FAQ that said one could make a hot key using an action. This seems like it should be a simple one so I read my manual, followed the instructions and created an action that apparently runs but does nothing. The book says that you can use the "insert" command to put menu items in an action, but I could not make it work.

Can someone tell me how to do it?

Thanks,

Hi Bruce,

In the Actions palette make sure you are not in Button Mode. Click New Action icon at the bottom of the palette or on the Menu of the palette. When the New Action dialog appears, type an appropiate name and assign a Function key.
Click Record
Now in the Actions Palette menu click Insert Menu Item.
When the dialog box appears don't click OK yet but click the Menu item you need. (e.g. Image>Adjustments>Brightness/Contrast).
The name will appear in the actions dialog, now you can click OK. Stop recording and you are done....
