I am trying to "Save for web" with various images and it has stopped working. I keep receiving the following message:

"Could not complete this operation because an assertion has failed"

It used to work (and has work countlessly with no trouble).

I did have PS6 and have been using PS7 for around a year with no errors. Now it won’t get past this problem.

I have uninstalled all references to PS/program files etc but it still doens not work – anyone got any ideas?

It seems to be a ‘bad setting’. Uninstall and delete the PROGRAM FILES\PHOTOSHOP directory etc…. and also delete references to Photoshop in the REGISTRY mainly, "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe", OR "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Photoshop". (Entire folder)

No hot_denim. All he needs to do is reset his SFW preferences by holding ctr-alt when he clicks SFW. This should be in the FAQ.

Good work Len. I’ve answered this question several times lately. Of course it will continue to be asked. How many people read the FAQ before posting?
