Keyboard shortcuts don't work

I installed Photoshop Cs today and facing a peculiar problem. Apart form the toolbar shortcuts 'M' "P' ...etc none of the normal shortcuts work, ctrl+s, ctrl+d, alt+bksp ....I checked edit-keyboard shortcuts, they are assigned to photoshop defaults.

They work just fine in imageready CS and Photoshop 7 which is also installed. I am running windows 2k advanced server with sp4.

Any idaes what could it be...
