update 7.0.1

I have been using Photoshop 7.0 on Windows XP, and I tried to download version 7.0.1 from the website. When it tried to install, the error message said cannot locate file Photoshop 7.0 or something like that. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop 7 on advice from a friend, but the install setup for 7.0.1 would still not recognize that I had ps7 installed on my computer.

any advice on how to solve this would be appreciated-I have little computer experience.
