Using Photoshop 7 in WinXP Professional. The clone stamp doesn't pick anything up when used with the Alt key. Doesn't transfer anything when clicked on another area. Same thing with healing brush. Just plain can't figure out how patch tool works. Please help. I don't see anything about this in the FAQ's. Thanks - Mary

Are you working on a layer that you're not looking at?
What happens when you "draw" with the patch tool? Do you get a marquee? What if you then drag the selection to another part of the image?

Rob,
Thank you for responding to my distress signal. As far as the layers, I have only one -- it is not locked. When I draw with the patch tool I do get a marquee, and I can drag the section anywhere leaving the transparent background behind.
I hope this is the info you're looking for.
