The actions palette drop down menu does not appear when I click on the show drop down menu arrow .. I’m using Photoshop 7 and I’m wondering how to fix this problem short of reinstalling Photoshop …

Remove some of the actions you put in the presets folder.

You’re probably running Win9X and going over the limit for menu items.

Chris, thanks .. that was exactly my problem! It does prompt me to ask what is the max number of menu items allowable in Windows ME? It works the same way for effects/filters, right?

We’re not sure of the exact maximum (and it seems to differ in various Win9X flavors). But we know it’s a lot less than Microsoft claims, and isn’t a problem on NT/2K/XP.

Yes, the limit is there for any menu.
