Photoshop CS With Microtek 1800f scanner

Was running PS6 on ME witht tis scanner fine. Upgraded to xp to upgrade to CS, and upgraded my Microtek driver to XP. When I try to import from this scanner with Scanwizard pro (the microtek software) The scanwizard window opens for a moment and then closes and closes Photoshop too. Anyone with any knowledge or experience with this?

I had a similar problem running <gasp!> Flash - every time I opened it, it showed for a second, then closed itself.

Know what it was? My "no popups" program! Disabled that, entered Flash into the ignore list, and problem solved.

After several hours of cussing.....

Sounds like you need a scanner driver update. Uninstall the current driver/software and then install the update.

It's possible for a bad scanner driver to really mess up in a tremendous way and bring Photoshop down with it - if the scanner has a standalone mode, it's sometimes better to use that instead.
